Troy Community Chorus annually awards a monetary scholarship to a deserving Troy high school student.
The scholarship application process includes completing an application, obtaining three (3) personal recommendations, and auditioning with the Troy Community Chorus board members. The scholarship award recipient agrees to use the funds for their music education and to perform in the Troy Community Chorus Spring Concert.
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
The Troy Community Chorus scholarship is open to high school students residing in Troy or attending Troy High School.
What do I need to do to be considered for the scholarship?
Complete the Troy Community Chorus Vocal Music Scholarship Application
Ask three individuals (school teacher, music teacher, etc.) if they will provide personal recommendations for you. If so, have them complete the Troy Community Chorus Vocal Music Scholarship Personal Recommendation Form.
Email your scholarship application and three personal recommendation forms to George Marck by February 28, 2025.
Auditions with the Troy Community Chorus board members will be held on March 11, 2025, in the Troy Athens High School Choir Room. You will be asked to sing a musical selection that best showcases your vocal skills. You will need to provide your accompanying music. Generally, students bring the music on their phones. However, there will be a piano available if needed.
What are the commitments of the scholarship winner?
The award recipient will agree to use the scholarship toward their music education, as well as agree to perform at the Troy Community Chorus Spring Concert on April 25, 2025.
How can the scholarship be used?
The scholarship is to be used toward the student’s music education. Eligible uses include private voice lessons, piano lessons, and music summer camp.
